What is Tantra? |
Tantra
is an age-old tradition and for some a spiritual path and a way of life.
The word tantra comes from ancient Sanskrit roots. It literally means
to expand and liberate. Over the course of centuries the ancient cultures
explored the deeper aspects of their sexual natures and discovered gateways
to enlightenment by cultivating their sexual energies. The classical practices
of tantra are both an art and science of sex.
Contemporary science is now discovering what the tantricks have known all along -- that a fulfilling sexual and emotional life is beneficial to our overall health. Research has shown that the experience of an expanded orgasm can boost the immune system and increase a person's emotional and physical well being.
